Description

Feminist and suffragette activist. Co-founder, with Emmeline Pankhurst, of the Women's Social and Political Union (WSPU). Was jailed on repeated occasions for her militant activism. Had a relationship with fellow suffragettes Mary Blathwayt and Christabel Pankhurst, as revealed in Blathwayt's personal diaries.
