Novelist, poet and journalist. Literary editor and war journalist for the Liverpool Post newspaper. Editor of the Nottingham Journal. Books include 'Scissore' (1922), 'Sails of Sunset' (1924), and 48 other books. Awarded the Italian Gold Medal in 1966. Had notable affairs with Prince George, Duke of Kent, Laurence Olivier, and W. Somerset Maugham.
