Theatre and opera director. Tony Award (2014) for Best Director for 'A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder', the musical inspired by the book "Kind Hearts and Coronets." Recipient of the Alan Schneider Award for Directing Excellence, T.C.G. National Theater Artist Residency Award, N.E.A. New Forms Grant, Boris Sagal Directing Fellowship, two Pennsylvania Council on the Arts Individual Artist Fellowships, and San Diego Critics Circle Craig Noel Award for his direction of Pericles. Faculty member, University of California at San Diego.
