Description

Author. Recipient of multiple awards for his work, including an Academy Award in 1979 for the documentary 'To Be Alive' for which he wrote the narration. Came out in his 1977 collection of poetry 'A Full Heart'. Recipient of a Lambda Literary Award for 'Counting Myself Lucky, Selected Poems 1963-1992'. His other books include 'Stand Up, Friend, With Me' (1962), 'Variety Photoplays' (1967), and 'Eskimo Songs and Stories' (1973), 'Stars in My Eyes' (1979), 'Magic Words' (1997), and 'After the Fall: Poems Old and New' (2007).
