Description

Member of Provincial Parliament, Ontario for Toronto Central district, since 2010. Former mayor, Winnipeg (1998-2004), being the first openly gay mayor in Canada. Former Minister of Research and Innovation (2010), and Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities (2011), Province of Ontario. Ran for leadership of the provincial Liberal Party in 2013 but failed in his bid.
