Description

Writer. Her first novel, 'Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit', won the 1985 Whitbread Prize for a First Novel. Multiple award winner. Famously belligerent feminist. The much-lauded novelist recently sparred with the green-wellies brigade when she labelled Country Life magazine "a bunch of gay-bashers". Recent novels include 'The Daylight Gate' (2013) and 'Frankisstein' (2019). Working on a series of short internet films with the BBC.
