Description

Professor of English, Colby College. Co-chair, GLAAD. Transgender. Author of her autobiography 'She's Not There: A Life in Two Genders' (2003), which was the first book by a transgender American to become a bestseller. Other books include her memoir 'Good Boy: My Life in Seven Dogs!' (2020). Contributor to The New York Times newspaper. Has taught English at Colby College, Maine, since 1988. In recent years, the mother of two has won the Lambda Literary Foundation Prize, University of Massachusetts’ “Stonewall Legacy” prize, and the title of “Professor of the Year” at Colby. Also known as Jenny Boylan.
