Description

Novelist and short story writer. Works include Jonkmanskas (1982), Die hemel help ons (1988), and Stagplaas (1993). His short story "Border Story" was included in Invisible Ghetto (1993), South Africa's first anthology of gay and lesbian writing, and a memoir of childhood, "Promise You'll Tell No-one", in Defiant Desire (1994). Published four collections of Afrikaans short stories: Jonkmanskas (1982), Die Hemel Help Ons (Heaven Help Us) in 1987, Slagplaas (Place of Slaughter) in 1992 and Weifeling (Hesitation) in 1993. Died of AIDS.
