Rhythm and Blues singer, songwriter and record producer who sold over 25 million records worldwide during his lifetime. Recipient of eight Grammy Awards, including Best R&B Singer four times. Albums include his first release 'Never Too Much' (1981). Songs include 'Never Too Much', 'Here and Now', 'Any Love', 'Power of Love/Love Power', 'I Can Make It Better', 'For You to Love', and 'Dance With My Father' (2004). Appeared in the group Change early in his career. Although never out during his lifetime, his close acquaintances confirmed that he was gay after he passed away.
