Gothic horror writer, notably for the classic book 'Frankenstein: or, The Modern Prometheus' (1818). Caused a scandal when she ran away to Europe with a married man (Percy Shelley, who she later married in 1861) and having a child with him. Other novels include 'Valperga' (1823), 'Perkin Warbeck' (1830), 'The Last Man' (1826), 'Lodore' (1835) and 'Falkner' (1837). Had relationships with women after her husbands death. Bisexual
