Film actor - handsome and intense in his work. One of the first openly gay actors to have a successful career in Hollywood. Notable films include 'A Place in the Sun' (1951) and 'From Here to Eternity' (1953), and 'Judgement at Nuremberg' (1961). Car crash left him unable to secure significant roles.
