Description

Deputy Head of Mission and Ambassador at the Embassy of the Netherlands in Kazakhstan since 2020. Former Strategic Policy Advisor in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2018-2020). Expert on the Protection of Cultural Property in International Perspective (immunity, recovery, restitution, legal obligations, international art loans and collection mobility, UNESCO Conventions). From 2008 until 2012, acted as (vice) Chair of the UNESCO Committee for the Protection of Cultural Property during Armed Conflict. Since 2011, he is a member of the International Committee on Cultural Heritage Law of the International Law Association.
