Description

Novelist, notably for the books 'The Lawn Boy' (1999), 'The Burning House' (2011), and his memoirs 'The Narrow Door' (2016) and 'Later: My Life at the Edge of the World' (2020). Currently teaches at Rutgers University, and former teacher of Creative Writing at Cornell University, The University of Houston, Antioch University, Sarah Lawrence College, Rutgers–Newark and New York University. Editor of 'StoryQuarterly' and serves on the Writing Committee of the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown.
