Description
Chair, New York Association for Gender Rights Advocacy (NYAGRA) which she co-founded in 1998. President of Board of Directors, Executive Director, Queens Pride House, which she co-founded in 1997. Also co-founded the Out People of Color Political Action Club. Named and helped create the Transgender Health Initiative of New York (THINY), a community organizing project established by the Transgender Legal Defense & Education Fund (TLDEF) and NYAGRA to ensure that transgendered and gender non-conforming people can access health care in a safe, respectful and non-discriminatory manner. Grand Marshall, 2005 New York City Pride Parade, the first transgender to be have been chosen. Named in the inaugural Trans 100 list for her activism.
