Description

Two-spirited Native American (Cherokee, African, Irish, Lenape, Lumbee and Osage) Assistant Professor at Oregon State University. Notable books include 'Walking With the Ghosts: Poems' (2005, nominated for Griffin Poetry Prize). Poetry 'confronts the legacy of land-theft, genocide, and forced removal of Cherokees from their homelands while simultaneously resisting ongoing attacks on both Indigenous and Gay/ Lesbian/ Bisexual /Transgender (GLBT) communities'. Formerly taught at Antioch University Seattle and Texas A&M University. Founder of Dragonfly Rising Press.
