Description

Author whose work centers around on what it means to be black and gay in the southern United States. Books include 'If I Had Two Wings' (2020), the collection of short stories 'Let the Dead Bury Their Dead' (1992, Lambda Literary Award), 'A Visitation of Spirits' (1989), and 'The Fire This Time' (2007). He is also the author of a young adult biography of James Baldwin (1993). From 1985 to 1989 he worked on the editorial staff of Alfred A. Knopf, Inc., publishers. Professor at the University of North Carolina. Also known as Randall Garrett Kenan.
