Description

Professor of Anthropology, Columbia University. Met and loved fellow anthropoligist Margaret Mead. Wrote about cultural relativity and abnormality, and argued that homosexuality was not a disease. Performed field research with American southwestern tribes, with the Serrono of California and the Blackfoot of Canada. Author of the books 'Zuni Mythology', 'Race: Science and Politics' (1940), and 'Patterns of Culture' (1934).
