Intellectual leader of the Italian Renaissance as a scholar and Catholic priest. Humanist philosopher and translator of Plato, notable for introducing the term and concept of 'Platonic Love' into the vocabulary. His correspondence, which has been preserved in its entirety, reveals his love and long relationship with Giovanni Cavalcanti.
