Portrait photographer and LGBTQ activist. Founder, the Forum for the Empowerment of Women (FEW), a black lesbian organization dedicated to providing a safe space for women to meet and organize. Founder Inkanyiso, an organisation concerned with visual activism. Honorary Professor - video and photography at the University of the Arts/Hochschule für Künste Bremen in Germany. Notable exhibitions include 'Faces and Phases'. Recipient of numerous awards, and author of three books.
