Description
Flamboyant blues and gospel singer known as 'The Prince of Blues'. Notable singles include 'Blues for My Baby' (1949), 'You Satisfy' (1949), 'Stacked Deck' (1951), and 'Hey Little Girl' (1951). Had a particular influence on fellow singer Little Richard. Made a living as an MC on the Atlanta club scene until he had a stroke in 1971.
