Description
Interior Designer. Collector of homoerotic art and proprietor, Leslie Lohman Gallery (to 1983). Co-founder (with partner Charles Leslie) of the Leslie/Lohman Gay Art Foundation Inc. (1987), a non-profit corporation created to preserve the works of LGBTQ artists. In 2011, it was attributed full museum status and renamed the Leslie+Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art, making it the first gay art museum in the world. Notable for his efforts in preserving the artistic community of Soho in New York City. Real estate investor. Also known as J. Frederic Lohman.
