Description

Television and film actor and singer. Noted for his role in the television show 'The Andy Griffith Show' playing the role of Gomer Pyle, and later in his own television show of that name, 'Gomer Pyle, USMC'. Later had his own television variety show. Has recorded twenty-eight albums and numerous singles, many of which have gone gold status, notably the song 'The Impossible Dream'. Became notable as a christian singer.
