Mayor of Chicago since 2019, being the first LGBTQ person and the first black person to be Mayor of the city. Former federal prosecutor, and chief of staff and general counsel of the Chicago Office of Emergency Management and Communications. President of the Chicago Police Board (2015-2018) and then chair of the Police Accountability Task Force. Candidate for Mayor of Chicago (2019). Lawyer.
