Chef, cookbook author, and founder/owner of the AC Restaurants group. Founder of popular Poole's Restaurant in Raleigh, North Carolina. Community activities include being a board member of the Frankie Lemmon foundation, serving on the board of Raleigh’s Contemporary Art Museum and the Downtown Raleigh Alliance, being an active member of the Southern Foodways Alliance, and founder of the biannual event Stir the Pot. Recipient of the James Beard Award for Best Chef: Southeast (2014). Author of the cookbook 'Poole’s: Recipes and Stories from a Modern Diner' (2016).
