Description
Transgender member of the Minneapolis, Minnessotta City Council since 2017. Considered the first transgender woman of colour to be elected to public office in the United States. Former senior policy aide to a fellow politician. Award-winning poet, writer and performer, and author of the poetry collection 'The T is Not Silent' (2015). Oral Historian for the Transgender Oral History Project of the Jean-Nickolaus Tretter Collection in GLBT Studies at the University of Minnesota.
