Description
Native Canadian writer of many books which explore Native American identity, gay and lesbian identity, and working-class struggles. Received awards from the Michigan Council For the Arts, the Ontario Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts, and served as a lecturer at the University of British Columbia and the University of Toronto. Recipient of the Canada Council Award in Creative Writing (1992).
