Professor, Department of History, University of Jerusalem. Noted author of the book 'Sapiens: A Brief History of Mankind' (2014). Specialty is medieval history, world history, and military history. Won the Polonsky Prize for Creativity and Originality (2009, 2012), and the Society for Military History’s Moncado Award (2011).
