Description

Humanist poet and writer who was active about writing about sexual relationships between men. Tutor to the royal princes of Poland after fleeing scandal in Italy, where he is believed to have assisted in an attempt to assassinate Pope Paul II. In 1474 he was named royal secretary, in 1476 he served as ambassador to Constantinople, and in 1486 he became the King of Poland's representative in Venice. Author of the biographies of Bishop Zbigniew Oleśnicki, Bishop Gregory of Sanok, and King Władysław III of Poland.
