Made television history when she came out as lesbian both in character and personally on her previous television show, 'Ellen' (1994-1998). Host of a number of awards shows, including Academy Awards, Primetime Emmy, and Grammy Awards. Started as a professional stand-up comic. Winner of thirteen Emmy Awards. Wife of Portia de Rossi.
