A gay activist since 1974, he also writes for the Gay City News and is a former Director of Education at the Hetrick-Martin Institute for LGBT youth. Contributor and columnist to numerous magazines and newspapers. Former President of the Gay Student Union at the University of Virginia. New York City Human Rights Commissioner from (1991-1993).
