Description

Neoclassical sculptor, notably for Perseus with Medusa's Head (1801). Recognized for his marble statues of male nudes in the classical tradition touched with elements of Baroque excess. Considered the greatest sculptor of his time. In addition to his own museum, his work is collected and shown in all of the principal museums around the world.
