Authored the book 'Transparent' (2011), a memoir about racism, homophobia, and sexual abuse. Recipient of an Emmy Award for his reporting on the real estate market in Chicago. He received an Edward R. Murrow Award for his coverage of the capture of the Washington D.C. area sniper.
