Description

Playwright of LGBTQ-themed plays, and others, such as 'And He Made Her', 'Street Theater' (titled Stonewall 69 outside the US), 'The West Street Gang', 'Forever After', and 'A Perfect Relationship'. Co-founder of TOSOS (The Other Side of Silence), the first professional theatre company to deal openly and honestly with the gay experience. Founding member of the Circle Repertory Theater. Participant of, and inspired by, the Stonewall riots of 1969, thereafter becoming active in the Gay Liberation Front, and then the Gay Activists Alliance (GAA) which was founded in late 1969.
