Description

Was allowed free-range of his homosexual tendencies in order to avoid being a danger to the throne, being Louis XIV's only brother and the younger son of Louis XIII. His closest relationship was with Philippe de Lorraine, known as the Chevalier de Lorraine. Successful military commander. Also known as Philippe I Duke of Orleans, and colloquially as 'Monsieur'. Married twice.
