Founder and producer of the podcast 'Making Gay History'. Founder and Chair of the Stonewall 50 Consortium, created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Stonewall. Author of a dozen books, including 'Making Gay History' (2002, Stonewall Book Award), 'Is It A Choice?' (1993), 'Why Suicide?' (2010), and 'Breaking the Surface' (1995, the biography of Greg Louganis). Served on the Board and staff of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (ASFP).
