Actor for stage, television and film. Theatre and opera director. Best known for her role as Mrs. Dursley in the 'Harry Potter' series of films, and as Carolyn Martens on the BBC show 'Killing Eve' for which she won a BAFTA Award (2019). Theatre productions include 'Electra' (1990), 'Machinal' (1994) and 'The Waste Land' (1997). Former partner was theatre director Deborah Warner, and now married to Dr. Sonali Deraniyagala. Appointed a Commander of the British Empire (2001).
