Australian Labor Party member of the New South Wales Legislative Council since 2007. Councillor of Bankstown City Council (1995-2007) and its Deputy Mayor between (1997-1998) and was the Mayor of Bankstown (2002-2006). Appointed a Member, Order of Australia (2006) and Centenary Medal (2001).
