Transgender woman whose challenge against the government after she was denied the right to marry her boyfriend on the island, following her gender confirmation operation, which in turn led to changes in national marriage law. Took the case the European Court of Human Rights, at which point the government dropped its opposition. Received an honour as part of the country's Republic Day.
