Description
Composer, pianist, and Professor of Music at the University of California at Berkeley (1950-1974) and Chair of the Department of Music (1950-1954). Formerly Chair of the Department of Music at Williams College (1940-1950). Notable compositions include 'Cuban Folk Songs' for mixed chorus, 'Catalonian Folk Songs' for soprano and piano, and 'Eight Variations on a Theme by Gaspar Sanz', as well as numerous religious orchestral compositions.
