Author of numerous books of erotic and graphic fiction and non-fiction, and editor of nonfiction anthologies. Often wrote under the pseudonyms Mike McCray, Preston MacAdam, and Jack Hilt. Notable for his mystery series featuring gay avengers Alex Kane and Danny Fortelli, 'The Mission of Alex Kane'. Columnist in several gay newspapers, including Drummer. Editor of The Advocate magazine (1975). Co-founder of the AIDS Project of Southern Maine. Died of AIDS.
