Description
Novelist, poet, and a prominent intellectual of her time. Co-founder of the poetry magazine 'Spektrum'. Openly portrayed lesbian love in her works, such as in her books 'Kris' (1934, Crisi), 'Merti vaknar' (1933, Merit Awakens), and 'For liite' (1936, Too Little). Translated T.S. Elliot's works into Swedish. Also known for her science fiction novel "Kallocain" (1940). A literary association dedicated to her work was created in 1983, keeping her work alive by spreading it among new readers. In 2004, one of the branches of the Uppsala University Library was named in her honour. Her life partner was Margot Hanel, whom she described as her wife.
