Description
General Practitioner, Surgeon and Physician, who helped create the New Sussex Hospital for Women and Children. A pioneer in the treatment of uterine cancer and fibroid growths in women through deep X-ray therapy. Member, National Council of Women. Author of the books 'Under the Surface' (1909) and her autobiography 'A Woman Surgeon' (1951). Awarded the Commander of the Order of the British Empire and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine.
