Description

Author of children's books, poet, composer. Translated many of her children's books into song. The adventurous little turtle Manuelita and the goofy monkey Mono Liso were among the more well-known of Walsh's characters. Her songs inspired children to sing along. Received the title of Illustrious Citizen of the City of Buenos Aires (1985), was named Doctor honoris causa of the National University of Cordoba (1990) and Illustrious People of Buenos Aires Province.
