Description

Lawyer and Professor of Law at Stanford University since 1998. Director of Stanford Law’s Supreme Court Litigation Clinic. Presented a legal opinion to the House Judiciary Committee that was assessing the impeachment of President Donald Trump (2019). At the Supreme Court she represented two men who said they were fired for being gay (2019), being her ninth presentation to the Supreme Court. Served as a commissioner on the California Fair Political Practices Commission, an assistant counsel and cooperating attorney for the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, and a Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. Bisexual.
