Television producer and director, notably for the television series 'Sons of Anarchy', 'The Mentalist', 'Weeds', 'NYPD Blue' (two Emmy awards), and 'The Good Wife', among many others. Music video producer and director. First African-American, and gay, President of the Directors Guild of America (2013). LGBTQ activist - awarded the Founder's Award from Project Angel Food in 1998 and the GLAAD Stephen F. Kolzak Award in 2001, to honor his outstanding representation of the LGBT community.
