Description

Professor in Social Justice Education at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She leads classes and workshops on sexism, racism, ableism, heterosexism/homophobia, and other forms of social injustice in education. Author on issues of sexism and homophobia in sports. Founding Director, Changing the Game - The GLSEN Sports Project. Author of 'Strong Women, Deep Closets: Lesbian and Homophobia in Sports' (1998). She is also co-editor of 'Teaching For Diversity and Social Justice: A Sourcebook for Teachers and Trainers' (2007). Author of Pat Griffin’s LGBT Sports Blog. Member of the U.S. Field Hockey squad in 1971.
