Description

Classical tenor singer and organist. Life partner of Baron Benjamin Britten, with which they co-founded the annual Aldeburgh Festival. The two also collaborated on many opera productions including 'Peter Grimes' and 'The Rape of Lucretia'. Appointed CBE (1957) and knighted (1978).
