Description

Comedian in television, film and theatre productions. Known for using racism as content in his comedy routines. Had written extensively about his sexual relationships in his diaries. Recipient of an Emmy Award (1973, Best Comedy Writing) and five Grammy Awards (1974, 1975, 1976, 1981, and 1982) for his stand up comedy routines. The first-ever Kennedy Center Mark Twain Prize for American Humor was presented to him (1998). Married seven times. Author of his autobiography 'Pryor Convictions' (1995). Bisexual.
