Description

Surrealist painter known for his eccentric manner and trademark moustache. Notable works include 'The Persistence of Memory' (1931, a painting of melting clocks). Author, architect, and film producer. Wrote his autobiography 'The Secret Life of Salvador Dalí' (1942). There are two major museums devoted to Salvador Dalí's work: the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres, Spain, and the Salvador Dalí Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida. Had an intimate relationship with poet Frederico Garcia Lorca, confirmed in his letters but publicly denied.
