Founder of the Student Volunteer Army, a group which grew out of the earthquake which hit New Zealand to begin repair and cleanup operations on a voluntary basis and later expanded to global efforts after natural disasters such as the Japanese Tsunami and Hurricane Sandy, as co-founder of a social enterprise called “Youth Beyond Disasters”. Creator of the Ministry of Awesome, an entrepreneurial incubator. 2012 Young New Zealander of the Year. LGBTQ activist.
